Singapore – In a forward-thinking approach to education, Singapore’s Ministry of Education has announced a revamped national curriculum that places a strong emphasis on sustainability and technology. This new curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Minister of Education Chan Chun Sing unveiled the curriculum at a press briefing, highlighting the importance of preparing students for careers in green technology and sustainable development. “We must equip our students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This curriculum will ensure that they are not only job-ready but also responsible global citizens,” he stated.
The new curriculum will integrate subjects such as environmental science, digital literacy, and innovation across all grade levels, promoting interdisciplinary learning. The ministry plans to roll out the curriculum in phases, starting with primary schools in 2025 and will provide training for teachers to effectively deliver the new content.
With this initiative, Singapore aims to position itself as a leader in education for sustainability and technology, ensuring that students are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the future.
